Brizo, the ancient Greek goddess, protector of mariners, sailors and fishermen, seemed a fitting name. After all, her Marine had spent the past two years traveling, studying and learning to navigate the often-murky waters of the dog world and was making one of the largest financial investments of his life. She was born in the first litter of those to carry the van Shoptaw Huis name. Granddaughter of the current top dog and daughter of his challenger, Briz became our logo girl.

Additional fun fact-
My wife contacted a fellow Marine without my knowledge to commission a painting of Briz as a gift. Conversations and photos were shared until they felt they’d captured what Brizo means to me and I’d say they nailed it!
