Ryker, born on the 4th of July, has a been a firecracker from the start. His original assignment was protection work and we quickly began that training. Ryker started figuring out the training games and would return with his own twist on what he had just learned. This prompted us to explore what else he could accomplish and that list keeps growing.

Ryker and handler, Emily, were the impetus for the “Walmart drill”; a concept far simpler than the execution. We ask our handlers and prospective clients for any scenarios, including the mundane, that they would like to prepare for in public parking lot situations. He and Emily are then called upon to demonstrate what’s possible when a Mal and handler have training and commitment.

He quickly became his family’s protector, guardian and best friend. His favorite pastimes are swimming in his pond, chasing sticks the size of small trees, watching his kids, and running the farm with mom. He loves to go anywhere mom goes and is up for adventure anytime.
